Janet Kerr R.W.S. Biography
Janet, born 1947, works mainly as a landscape painter in Yorkshire and has a growing reputation and respect for her strong abstract landscapes. She studied at Thurrock Technical College and Graphic Design at North London Polytechnic. Janet won the Daler Rowney Award for the best water based painting during Northern Prospects Landscape Exhibition, Harewood House and she was elected an associate member of The Royal Watercolour Society in 1995 and a Fellow in 1997. Her mixed group appearances include Works on Paper in Yokohama, Japan, exhibitions at Royal Scottish Academy, Edinborough; The Bruton Gallery, Leeds; Thompsons Gallery; The Bankside Gallery and Mall Galleries amongst others. Janet’s work is held in many public and private collections including The Museum of Foreign Art, Tokyo.
