Karolina Larusdottir Biography
Born in Reykjavik, Iceland. Studied at the Sir John Cass College, London (1964-65), the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford (1965-67) and Barking College of Art (1977-80). Her works are often inspired by her childhood in Iceland. Her grandfather's hotel in Reykjavik provided a wealth of imagery. Her work contains a wry humour that enhances the surreal and timeless qualities she creates. Has received numerous awards and commissions. She is a member of the New English Art Club, the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and the Royal Watercolour Society. Her work is featured in numerous private and public collections world-wide including those of The British Museum, London, The Vatican, H.M. Queen Elizabeth and the Icelandic National Collection.
